Workbench

After closing the Quick Start page the Workbench window opens, showing one of the perspectives of the working environment (to reopen the Quick Start page, click Help > Quick Start).

Before you proceed, familiarize yourself with the basic elements of the Workbench:

• Perspective is a predefined set of views and editors (to open other perspectives, click Window > Open Perspective).
• View is a visual element of the Workbench. Views support editors and provide alternative presentations as well as ways to navigate the information in the Workbench (to open other views click Window > Show View).
• Editor is a visual element of the Workbench. Editors are used to view and edit resource content. Editors could be internal or embedded. Internal editors does not need an external program to work (e.g., internal HTML browser). Embedded editors host an external program inside the workbench (e.g., Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader).
